These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of LitSynced.com (“LitSynced,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), including all content, features, and services we provide.

By accessing or using LitSynced.com, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the site.

The Service

LitSynced provides free web-based reading and listening experiences, including text synchronized with narration, primarily for personal and educational use.

• Website pages are served via static hosting (e.g., Cloudflare Pages).
• Audio files are delivered through cloud storage and CDN services (e.g., Cloudflare R2).
• No user accounts or logins are currently required.

We may update, modify, or discontinue features at any time.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the site in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations.
• Attempt to overload, disrupt, or interfere with the site’s infrastructure or security.
• Scrape, crawl, or systematically harvest content in a way that burdens the service or violates any robots.txt rules.
• Misrepresent your affiliation with LitSynced or impersonate others.
• Use the service to harass, threaten, or harm any person.
• Remove or alter any copyright, trademark, or attribution notices.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the site at our discretion if we believe you have violated these Terms.

Intellectual Property

• Literary works and audio narrations on LitSynced may be in the public domain in some jurisdictions or used under applicable licenses. However, copyright status can vary by country, edition, and recording. We do not provide legal advice regarding copyright.
• The LitSynced branding, design, user interface, code, and original content (excluding public-domain works) are owned by LitSynced or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws.
• You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from our proprietary materials except as expressly permitted.

Custom Links / Assignment Links

Some features allow you to create shareable URLs that include reading progress, highlights, or playback settings. By sharing such links, you are sharing that configuration with the recipient. You are responsible for how you use and share these links.

Third-Party Services

We rely on third-party providers (primarily Cloudflare) for hosting, storage, and content delivery. Your use of their services is subject to their own terms and privacy policies.

Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” BASIS. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND THOSE ARISING FROM COURSE OF DEALING OR USAGE OF TRADE.

We do not guarantee that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that text-audio synchronization will work perfectly on all devices, browsers, or network conditions.

Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LITSYNCED AND ITS OPERATORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

In jurisdictions where the above limitations are not allowed, our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless LitSynced, its operators, and affiliates from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your violation of these Terms or your use of the site.

Changes to These Terms or the Service

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the new “Last updated” date at the top. Continued use of LitSynced after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

We may also introduce new features, advertising, or paid options (such as an ad-free subscription) in the future. If we do, we will provide reasonable notice where practical.

Termination

We may discontinue or restrict access to the service at any time, with or without notice. You may stop using the site at any time.

Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

If you believe any material on LitSynced.com infringes your copyright, please send a notice to hello@litsynced.com including:

• Your full name and contact information
• Identification of the copyrighted work
• The URL and description of the allegedly infringing material
• A statement that you have a good faith belief the use is not authorized
• A statement that the information in the notice is accurate, and (where applicable) that you are authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner

We will respond appropriately, which may include removing or disabling access to the material.
